Goin' To the Fair

All pictures are clickable.  I made thumbnails to save on page loading time.

The latest in my French Beaded Flowers "frenzy".  I entered these arrangement in the state fair exhibits.  The fair  runs from Saturday September 20th though Saturday, September 27th, 3003 in Bloomsburg, Pa.

I am pleased with them.  I hope others are too.

Fall arrangement  - has a huge yellow mum at the center, 5 light orange anemone mums, 5 red spider lilies, 6 stems of wheat, & 2 "clusters" made up of groups of red, orange & yellow fall leaves & big bunches of blackberries - all gathered together.  The yellow mum ALONE has nearly 15,500 seed beads in it (15,322 to be exact).

This arrangement won a second place ribbon.

ladyhead1.jpg (31734 bytes)

My lady Head Vase - filled with 3 large pink roses, white carnations, several small daffodils, forget me knots, yellow Canna buds, blue hyacinths & a Mountain Laurel (the state flower).  There is also a tiny beaded bubble bee on one of the carnations.

This arrangement won the 1st Place Ribbon in the beadwork catagory.

ornament1.jpg (20335 bytes)

A French beaded poinsettia Christmas tree ornament. It has a gold wire hanger attached at back.

The poinsettia won a 4th place ribbon.

I created the patterns for the carnations before getting a copy of several old carnation patterns. So, they are a bit different. I also created the patterns for the Red Spider Lily by looking at pictures of this flower on the web.  The yellow Chrysanthemum is adapted from a printed pattern I had that was far too small & too wispy for what I wanted.  The blackberries too where simply something I made up as I went along.
